Following the accidental death of Yeter, the partner of her father, Nejat travels to Istanbul in the hope of finding the daughter of Yeter, Aylen. However, this activist wanted by the law has fled her country. In Germany, she meets Lotte and the two girld fall in love... Immigration, identity, differences and the relationship between modernity and tradition are all the themes of this magnificent film that caused a stir at the last Cannes film festival. As a cherry on the cake, the film features Hanna Schygulla, the muse of Fassbinder, in the moving role of Suzanne, the mother of Lotte.
