Constructed from the rushes of the cult film by Gus Van Sant, My Own Private Idaho, with River Phoenix and Keanu Reeves as drifting prostitutes, My Own Private River is a film from one actor to another. James Franco expresses his fascination with River Phoenix, but above all allows us to rediscover the work of Gus Van Sant with images and scenes not included in the original film.
