In the slums of Manila, Maximo Oliveros, a young effeminate and happy 12 year old boy, lives with his father and two elder brothers in a world of theft and trafficking. The amusing sexuality of Maxi is accepted by his family, bringing with it a softness to the poor and violent world in which they live.
