Synopsis

Alessandro and Arturo have been together for over fifteen years, having taken residence in a lively Roman apartment building where everybody knows each other. One day, Alessandro’s best friend and former lover, Annamaria, arrives unexpectedly and asks them to take care of her two kids for a few days, as she is being admitted to a hospital due to recurring headaches. But her stay at the hospital drags on. The two men, whose relationship seems to have entered that dreaded middle-aged crisis stage, are far from ready to care for two young children.

Ferzan Oztepek's thirteenth feature film has won several awards, and with reason: his seemingly simple but infinitely rich style, marked by works such as La Fate Ignoranti (2001) or Mine Vaganti (2010) - both of which have been screened by our very own team at Pink Screens - follows a series of recurring themes surrounding family, reconciliation and diversity.
