Synopsis

After having made homophobic comments, Mathias Le Goff, the world’s second-best  swimming champion, is sentenced to coach ‘Les Crevettes Pailletées’, a gay water-polo team, more interested in having fun than competition. This explosive combination travels to Croatia, where the Gay Games, the world's largest gay sports event, is taking place. The journey turns out to be the opportunity for Mathias to discover an alternative universe that will shake his beliefs and allow him to review his priorities in life.

With numerous powerful dialogues that do not always avoid certain stereotypes, adapted to situations that are necessarily unconventional, the script focuses through a small group of individuals on all the divisions and questioning of the LGBT ‘community’, while emphasizing a certain taste for celebration and freedom. A real remedy for gloominess, the film is also a beautiful ode to freedom and openness.

In the end, it is very difficult to say farewell to this bunch of amiable crackpots, and it seems that France has gotten its own ‘Priscilla, Queen of the desert’, in an aquatic version!
