Summer time. A nudist cruising spot for men, tucked away on the shores of a lake. Enter : Franck, seeking adventure in the bushes ; the more apprehensive and guarded Henri ; and Michel, a young, moustachioed Adonis. One evening, Franck witnesses Michel frolicking in the water with an unknown stranger. The innocent scene takes a murderous turn as Michel drowns the stranger in the lake. Infatuated with the beautiful but deadly Michel, Franck stays quiet, and the two embark on a passionate love affair. Director Guiraudie has previously enchanted us with ‘That Old Dream that Moves’ and ‘The King of Escape’. His new masterpiece, a film that straddles the line between nightmare and dream, further cements his potential as a great filmmaker.
